HIGHLAND PARK, Ill. – After finishing the first round on top and sliding into second place at the end of day one, No. 4 Arizona State, the reigning national champions, ended victorious with their first team win of the season at Northwestern's Windy City Collegiate Classic.
Junior Linnea Strom (208/-5) led the individual field for the majority, finishing ultimately in second place in a closely contested race for the top spot. No. 8 Oklahoma State's Maddie McCrary (207/-6) earned the individual crown. Strom's second-place finish was her second consecutive top-10 finish of 2017-18.
Olivia Mehaffey shot a career-low 65 in round one on Monday en route to her first top-10 finish of the season, her highest finish since last season's NCAA Regionals, ending the three-round tournament in sixth place (212/-1).
