The Arizona State men's golf team finished second behind hot-shooting Northwestern at the Marquette Intercollegiate held at the Erin Hills Golf Course (par-72/7,869 yards), the site of the 2017 U.S. Open.
ASU finished at 4-under 860 (287-291-282) while Northwestern shot 12-under 276 in the final round Tuesday to finish at 6-under 858 (286-296-276). This marked the second straight tournament ASU had finished second to start the year, as it took second at the Maui Jim Invitational Sept. 21-23 in Scottsdale.
Junior Alex del Rey -- who posted 37 pars, 11 birdies and one eagle in 54 holes -- finished second behind Ryan Lumsden of Northwestern, as Lumsden carded an 8-under 208 (73-68-67).
