SEATTLE – The No. 29 Sun Devil Women's Tennis team (11-3, 1-1) couldn't stage a late rally on the road at No. 21 Washington, falling to the Huskies (11-3, 2-0) 4-1 on Friday afternoon at the Bill Quillian Tennis Stadium.
For just the second time this season, the Sun Devils stumbled out of the gate and dropped the lone doubles point. The Huskies grabbed both Courts 2 and 3, each by a score of 6-2, to jump ahead to 1-0.
Needing to take four of six singles matches, the Sun Devils found themselves in a quick hole after the Huskies won five of six first sets.
