TEMPE, Ariz. – Jade Loville (16 points), Ayzhiana Basallo (10 points) and Taya Hanson (nine points) combined for 35 points and were among several players who contributed to an outstanding defensive effort in the Sun Devil women's basketball team's 55-49 upset of No. 19 Oregon on Sunday.
Sunday's game was the fourth in a seven-game stretch in which the Sun Devils are playing against teams in the top third of the Pac-12 standings. After dropping games to No. 2 Stanford on January 28 and Oregon – the same Oregon team it faced on Sunday –on Tuesday, the Sun Devils (11-8, 3-3 Pac-12) responded with a pair hard-fought wins over Oregon State, 67-57 on Friday and Sunday's triumph over the Ducks.
