Sun Devil WBB fights back from late deficit to beat New Mexico 83-77 in overtime

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The Sun Devil women's basketball team fought back from a five-point deficit with 2:37 left in the fourth quarter to force overtime where it outscored New Mexico 10-4 in the extra frame to come away with an 83-77 win on Sunday.

The Sun Devils (4-0) opened the game hot, scoring 24 points on 9-of-16 shooting from the field. Ten of Tyi Skinner's game-high 24 points – the junior guard's second consecutive 24-point outing, one point short time tying her career high – came in the opening quarter.

The Sun Devils combined to go 5-for-25 from the floor in the second and third quarters, but managed to keep the game close throughout with clutch baskets and timely free throws.
