Sun Devil Student-Athletes Active on International Stage this Summer

TEMPE, Ariz. – When the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships concluded in Eugene, Oregon on June 9, the collegiate season officially ended for all Sun Devil student-athletes. That doesn't mean the Devils stopped competing. Athletes from 14 sports and 17 ASU teams have, or will take part in international competitions this summer.

"Some of these experiences can offer tremendous growth," Sun Devils women's basketball coach Charli Turner Thorne said. "I think it's always a great experience because it's an international competition and you're representing your country. Even if they don't play a lot, they often come home a little more motivated and if they do play, hopefully they learn through that competition and come home better for it.
