STANFORD, Calif. – In a rubber match in the series finale in the Bay Area, No. 10 Arizona State softball (32-7, 13-2 Pac-12) came up short 4-2 in the final game of the three-game series against the Stanford Cardinal (31-13, 8-7 Pac-12) on Sunday.
The Sun Devils got off to a hot start with hitting back-to-back home runs from Alynah Torres and Yanni Acuña, the first time this has happened for ASU since March 27 against Arizona. This is Torres fifth home run in the last five games to add to her season total of 11, while Acuña homered for the 10th time this season.
