MEN'S SWIMMING
Coming off his first career Olympic gold medal in the 400m IM, Léon Marchand was back in the pool Tuesday for four races with limited rest in between, competing for spots in the 200m butterfly and in the 200m breaststroke finals, where he ultimately qualified for both finals set to take place Wednesday in front of his home country.
In his first race of the day, Marchand swiftly swam a 1:55.26 in the 200m butterfly heats to move into the semifinals, then that evening he won his heat in 1:53.
