Sun Devil Football’s Cristian Zendejas Named Pac-12 Special Teams Player of the Week

TEMPE, Ariz. – Arizona State redshirt sophomore placekicker Cristian Zendejas was named the Pac-12 Special Teams Player of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday.

Filling in for junior Brandon Ruiz for the second straight week, Zendejas provided all of ASU's points over the first three-plus quarters of its 19-7 win over Sacramento State on Friday. Zendejas connected on all four of his field goal attempts (36, 26, 35, 26) in helping the Sun Devils get out to a 12-0 lead. Zendejas, who also made his only PAT attempt, became the first Sun Devil to make four field goals in a game since 2016 Lou Groza award winner and current Arizona Cardinals placekicker Zane Gonzalez accomplished the feat in 2016.
