Strom Shoots Par, Four Strokes Off Lead Thru Day 1 at NCAAs

EUGENE, Ore. – Arizona State freshman Linnea Strom is right where she needs to be after day one of the NCAA Women’s Golf Championships on Friday.

The rookie from Sweden shot an even par 72 at the 6,331-yard Eugene Country Club, where she currently sits in a tie for 29th place and four shots off the lead. She is also tied for 6th out of the 12 individuals. The individual field will be cut down to nine after Sunday’s third round.

“Linnea played a solid round of golf today,” said head coach Missy Farr-Kaye. “She putted well and struck the ball well.
