TEMPE – No. 17 Arizona State men's tennis (13-7, 1-1 Pac-12) lost their first conference match of the season, 4-0, to No. 33 Stanford (11-4, 3-0 Pac-12) on Friday. The Cardinal have now taken seven of their last eight matches against ASU dating back to 2018, when their men's program was reinstated.
This was just the second time the Sun Devils have been defeated at Whiteman Tennis Center this season.
Stanford took a 1-0 lead after winning the opening doubles point. Sun Devil partners Jacob Bullard and Murphy Cassone were ahead 6-5 on court two, but Stanford won the doubles match with victories on courts one and three.
