For most of coach Todd Graham’s time at Arizona State, special teams have been a spring priority. Considering the Sun Devils' performance the last few years, it was a necessity.
That’s no longer the case.
This spring, it took 24 days and 10 practices before a media member even asked Graham about special teams. The reason: Under second-year special-teams coordinator Shawn Slocum, they’re in good shape. A team strength.
“Night and day,” Graham said of ASU’s improvement. “Coach Slocum, you can just tell how the pace of workouts go and the guys’ knowledge of what we’re doing.
