SEATTLE – Using one of its best performances of the season, Sun Devil softball defeated No. 5 Washington 9-3 on Sunday at Husky Softball Stadium. For the second consecutive day, the game was delayed by rain.
Despite the conditions, Arizona State (15-9, 1-2 Pac-12) was clicking at the plate and got a solid performance in the circle to snap Washington's (18-3, 2-1 Pac-12) 10-game winning streak.
Tanya Windle and Kayla Lissy ignited the Sun Devil offense with three hits apiece. Windle became the first ASU player since 2012 to record three doubles in a game, which is the team record using the available record dating back to the 2009 season.
