Simone Earns Thorpe Award Semifinalist Recognition

TEMPE, Ariz. – Sun Devil Football redshirt senior safety Jordan Simone has been named one of 16 semifinalists for the Jim Thorpe Award, presented annually to the nation’s most outstanding defensive back, the Oklahoma Sports Hall of Fame announced Monday.

Simone is the sole semifinalist from the Pac-12 this year and one of four student-athletes in Arizona State history to earn Thorpe Award semifinalist honors.

Simone ranks third in the nation with 50 solo tackles and his team-leading 63 total tackles are third in the Pac-12 and 35th in the nation.
