Arizona State women’s basketball isn’t in the national top 25 yet, but it might not take long given what the Sun Devils showed Sunday in their season opener.
Despite losing three key seniors off a team that lost by three points to eventual national champion South Carolina in the 2017 NCAA second round, ASU dominated in a 74-42 win over UT San Antonio before 4,639 at Wells Fargo Arena.
The Sun Devils led wire-to-wire, running out to a 12-4 lead before scoring the first eight points of the second quarter and the first seven in the third.
