ATLANTA, Ga. – Sun Devil swimming kicked off day two of the U.S. Open Championships in Atlanta, sending three to the block to compete in the finals, including two freshmen in Jack Dolan and Julian Hill.
Cierra Runge got things started for ASU in the 400-meter freestyle, finishing 15th out of a field of nearly 100 swimmers to earn a spot in the B Final of the event. Rio participant Runge was joined by several from her Team USA squad in the finals in an ultra-competitive field including Katie Ledecky and Allison Schmitt, who has been training in Tempe for Tokyo under Bob Bowman.
