You never know what to expect when it comes to a rivalry game, and that certainly proved to be the case Saturday in the Duel in the Desert.
Arizona State (7-5, 5-4) prevailed 41-40, rallying from a 19-point deficit and outscoring the Wildcats 20-0 in the final quarter to claim the Territorial Cup for the second straight season. The win also denied the Wildcats (5-7, 4-5) a bowl berth.
Two Arizona turnovers aided the Sun Devils' comeback in the final seven minutes. The game was sealed when Arizona's Josh Pollack misfired on a 45-yard, field-goal attempt on the last play of the game.
