Coach Bobby Hurley on Thursday lassoed a commitment from a high school point guard, the first since he arrived at Arizona State 15 months ago.
His name is Remy Martin.
Martin is an explosive 5-foot-11 floor leader from Chatsworth (Calif.) Sierra Canyon High, a teammate of Marvin Bagley III, the former Tempe Corona del Sol standout who is among the best high school prospects of any class. Bagley -- the grandson of former ASU star Joe Caldwell -- also is considering the Sun Devils.
Scouts offer different evaluations of Martin.
247 Sports, which combines all the major recruiting services, gives the point guard a composite three-star ranking.
