As reported by Sun Devil Source, just one day after Klayton Adams announced he would be staying in the NFL ranks as the Colts assistant offensive line coach, Herm Edwards swiftly tabbed longtime college offensive line coach Mike Cavanaugh to take over the vacant position.
Cavanaugh, who served the last three seasons as Syracuse’s offensive line coach, originally interviewed for the job prior to Adams being selected. His coaching resume is extensive, featuring 22 seasons coaching in the FBS on top of a brief stint in the NFL during the late 1990’s. His stops include Hawaii, Oregon State and Nebraska before arriving in Syracuse in 2018.
