Arizona State offensive coordinator Billy Napier is a candidate for the head-coaching job at Louisiana-Lafayette and perhaps is the leader in the clubhouse.

Sun Devil Source reported Thursday night that Napier has been offered the job.

According to the Louisiana Daily Advertiser, Napier is a candidate along with Auburn offensive coordinator Chip Lindsey and Penn State defensive coordinator Brent Pry. Lindsey was ASU offensive coordinator in 2016.

Napier was promoted to ASU associate head coach last week under new head coach Herm Edwards.

It is not known if Napier would leave ASU to become a first-time head coach at the Sun Belt Conference school.
