Arizona State basketball outscored Rider 27-0 combined in a pair of first-half runs Sunday on the way to a 92-55 victory at Desert Financial Arena.
ASU improved to 2-1 ahead of an NCAA Tournament rematch against St. John’s on Saturday.
The Sun Devils missed 10 of their first 11 shots, falling behind 10-2, before awakening to dominate the final 15 minutes of the first half.
ASU leading scorer Rob Edwards didn’t get on the board until 4:30 left in the first half. By then, the Sun Devils already had put a 13-0 run on Rider and were into a 14-0 run that included consecutive 3-pointers by Remy Martin.
