Nearing his second month on the job, Arizona State coach Herm Edwards walks through the program's football facility. It's unusually quiet. Outside the Sun Devils locker room, he spots offensive lineman Steven Miller.
After talking a few seconds, Edwards tells Miller: "Come up and see me. My door's always open. Come on up."
After a quick transition, Edwards, a former NFL head coach, finally is getting settled into his first college job in nearly 30 years. He's caught up on recruiting. He's assembled his staff. He's evaluated his roster.
Edwards recently sat down with azcentral sports to discuss his first weeks in Tempe, as well as his role as a "CEO" coach and what changes he plans to make.
