FUKUOKA, Japan-- On the final day of the World Aquatics Championships, pro Regan Smith was a part of the 4x100 relay that won the gold medal for Team USA.
This medal was Smith's fifth of the week after winning the silver in the 50m, 100m and 200m backstroke and the bronze in the 200m butterfly. In the relay, Smith swam the backstroke portion of the medley relay with a split of 57.68. She wins the championship alongside her Team USA teammates Lilly King, Gretchen Walsh and Kate Douglass.
Smith repeats as a world champion in the 4x100 medley relay after winning the gold at last year's championships in Budapest, Hungary and also was a part of the medley relay that won the world championship and set the world record.
