TEMPE, Ariz. – Arizona State University has named Penn State assistant coach Stevie Mussie as its seventh women’s volleyball coach Vice President for University Athletics and Athletics Director Ray Anderson announced Wednesday. With the appointment at Arizona State, Mussie is currently the only African-American woman to lead a Division I, power-five conference volleyball program.
“Looking at Stevie’s track record she has experienced measureable success at each stop in her coaching career. She has an innate ability to relate to student-athletes on a personal level and tremendous energy and enthusiasm for bringing the next world-class volleyball players to ASU.
