TEMPE – Arizona State Newcomer William Paulson made history when he became the first Sun Devil since 2012 to run a mile in under 4 minutes, Saturday night at the UW Invitational in Seattle.
The race in the Pacific Northwest was not only Paulson's season debut, but also his first time representing ASU since arriving in Tempe last fall. The field was expected to be fast and Paulson was one of the fastest, winning his heat and leaving the Dempsey Indoor Facility with the fastest mile of his collegiate career.
