The much-maligned Pac-12 teams went 8-4 in their respective openers but one of the losses came in the highest profile game as No. 11 Oregon fell to No. 16 Auburn 27-21 on neutral ground at AT&T Stadium in front of a national television audience.
It was the only game between ranked teams on the first full weekend of college football. The loss dropped the conference to 2-16 in the last 18 games against ranked SEC foes.
Utah and Stanford boasted the most impressive wins of the lot with Utah turning back state rival BYU and Stanford winning a defensive struggle against Northwestern.
