TEMPE, Ariz. – An Arizona State women's swimming program that was named one of the nation's most improved programs last year adds Olympian Cierra Runge to the roster at the midwinter competition break.
At the 2016 Olympics in Rio, Runge won a gold medal with the 4x200 free relay team, and she spent the majority of her summer training at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo.
Runge swam her freshman year at Cal, most recently swimming at Wisconsin, but trained in Arizona leading up to the 2016 Olympics under her former club coach and current ASU head coach Bob Bowman, who served as the head men's coach for Team USA at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
