Oregon offensive lineman Cody Shear is transferring to Arizona State.
Shear announced his decision Sunday via social media.
Shear, 6-3, 285, is from Eugene, attending Sheldon High School. He redshirted in 2017, did not play in 2018 due to injury and decided to transfer after spring practice.
Barring an NCAA waiver, he is ineligible for 2019 then would have at least two years of eligibility.
ASU played two offensive line graduate transfers – Casey Tucker (from Stanford) and Roy Hemsley (USC) – in 2018 with Hemsley returning this year. Shear will help to fill in gaps in ASU's offensive line recruiting after senior losses following 2019.
