No. 8 Arizona State baseball erupted for eight runs in the fourth inning Friday night in a 13-5 series-opening win over Nebraska.
Fourteen Sun Devils came to the plate in the fourth at Phoenix Municipal Stadium, which included RBI doubles by Gage Workman and Hunter Jump and two runs scoring on hit batters.
ASU scored two runs on wild pitches in a three-run second innings.
Freshman Cooper Benson pitched six innings to earn the victory. Seth Tomczak, Blake Burzell, Brady Corrigan and Christian Bodlovich finished up on the mound for ASU.
ASU improved to 7-3 with its fourth consecutive win.
