No. 5 ASU baseball suffers third straight defeat, losing USC series

No. 5 Arizona State baseball suffered its first series loss of the season Saturday, falling 7-3 at USC.

ASU (25-4, 8-3 Pac-12) suffered its third consecutive loss and is assured of its first losing week no matter how the series finale goes at 1 p.m. Sunday.

The Sun Devils pulled even at 3-3 with on an Alika Williams leadoff homer in the sixth before USC (12-17, 5-6) scored three runs in its half of the sixth.

Spencer Torkelson hit a solo home run, his seventh, in the third for a 1-0 ASU lead, but the Trojans also scored three in the bottom of that inning.
