No. 4 Washington softball broke open a 2-2 game with five runs in the fourth inning Saturday for a 9-2 win over No. 24 Arizona State.
ASU scored two runs in its half of the fourth on a Jade Gortarez homer to pull even. The Huskies answered with a two-run triple by Sis Bates and three-run homer by Sami Reynolds.
Samantha Mejia (12-8) pitched 3 1/3 innings for ASU followed by Abby Andersen.
Washington (34-6, 12-3 Pac-12) won the series ahead of the finale at noon Sunday. ASU (25-16, 5-9) suffered its eight consecutive loss, all to top 10-ranked teams.
