SALT LAKE – No. 24 Sun Devil Men's Tennis (5-4) was outlasted by Utah (5-1), who picked up the 4-3 win in ASU's first Big 12 Conference match of the season.
Though the Sun Devils did not earn the doubles point, the duo of Daniel Phillips and Tanner Povey battled for a 6-2 victory from the second position and improved to 6-0 on the year as a pair.
ASU saw three singles wins, two of which came in straight sets after Bor Artnak's 6-1, 6-1 victory, followed by Mathis Bondaz's 6-4, 6-2 win.
