You wouldn't know it from the final score, but No. 21 Arizona State women's basketball had a quarter's worth of trouble with Holy Cross on Wednesday.
The Crusaders led 11-8 after the opening 10 minutes at Wells Fargo Arena as ASU "forgot how to run a zone offense," coach Charli Turner Thorne said. The Sun Devils didn't forget how to play defense, though, holding Holy Cross to 22 points the rest of the way for their seventh consecutive win, 63-33.
ASU now has 40 non-conference wins over the past four years, the most in school history during the Pac-10/12 era over that time frame, with just seven losses.
