No. 21 Arizona State basketball falls to Utah in overtime

When it mattered most, in the final minutes of overtime, Arizona State went cold and the result was another home conference loss.

The No. 21 Sun Devils hit their first three overtime shots Thursday but didn’t produce another field goal, falling to Utah 80-77 in front of a crowd of 11,536 fans at Wells Fargo Arena.

ASU dropped to 15-5 and 3-5 in the Pac-12 and likely will drop out of the Top 25 for the first time since late November. Utah improved to 13-7 and 5-4.

With 2:42 left in overtime, Utah’s Sedrick Barefield hit a 3 to give Utah a 79-76 lead.
