No. 17 Arizona State softball rebounded in a big way from a Pac-12 opening loss, crushing Oregon State 18-2 Saturday night at Farrington Stadium.
ASU scored 13 runs in the third inning on its way to the run-rule victory.
Five Sun Devils homered including Morgan Howe and DeNae Chatman in the decisive third. Howe, Chatman, Kindra Hackbarth and Alli Tatnall had three RBI. Tatnall hit a pinch hit homer in the fourth.
Samantha Mejia (11-3) threw a complete game.
ASU improved to 21-8, 1-1 Pac-12 with Oregon State dropping to 17-6, 1-1. The series finale is at noon Sunday.
