No. 14 Arizona State erupted for five third-period goals Friday night, beating RIT 6-1 at Oceanside Ice Arena.
ASU won its third straight game with a second scoring explosion, coming back from 3-0 down to beat Brown 4-3 in game 2 last week.
"We've been in this position so many times, just like last week against Brown," ASU coach Greg Powers said. "We've been tied going into the third and hadn't won yet. We knew if we're going to do what we need to do and go where we need to go, we've got to win these games, and the guys really stepped up.
