EUGENE, Ore. – Oregon began looking ahead way too soon to a top-of-the-Pac-12 basketball showdown with Arizona.
It cost the No. 13 Ducks last week in a loss at Colorado – ending a school-record 17-game win streak – and nearly bit them again Thursday night as they held off Arizona State 71-70 at Matthew Knight Arena.
The Sun Devils, 0-5 against nationally ranked opponents, led by 10 with 3:15 left after a Torian Graham 3-pointer erased the last of what had been a five-point deficit.
BOX SCORE: No. 13 Oregon 71, Arizona State 70
Dillon Brooks made a pair of free throws coming out of a timeout to put Oregon back ahead.
