No. 12 ASU baseball rallies for 6-5 win at Arizona

TUCSON – No. 12 Arizona State tried to give away a game to rival Arizona on Wednesday night, walking the first four batters in the second inning and falling behind by four.

But with some stellar defense and help from the Wildcats, ASU regrouped to win 6-5 before 4,184 at Hi Corbett Field, clinching the season series (3-1) and earning the Territorial Cup Series baseball point. A final non-conference game will be played here Tuesday.

"We made some really nice defensive plays that held us close," ASU coach Tracy Smith said. "To me the play of the game was the two-out base hit and (UA) not scoring (in the third).
