It was like the first day of school as the Arizona State Sun Devils hit the practice field Monday morning.
Sure, Sun Devils coach Herm Edwards is starting his third season but the feel was indeed different than it was last season, Edwards second as head coach.
It was more like his first year in Tempe, when everything had a newness to it.
Offensive coordinator Rob Likens is gone, replaced by Zak Hill, who ran an up-tempo offense at Boise State.
Antonio Pierce, the linebackers coach, was elevated to defensive coordinator, a title he shares with veteran NFL coach Marvin Lewis who originally joined Edwards in an advisory role a year ago.
