Arizona State has garnered its second pledge for the class of 2021 with weakside defensive end Caleb Banks of Southfield Arts & Tech (Mich.), announcing on social media he plans to play for the Sun Devils.
Banks is the first recruit of new ASU defensive line coach Robert Rodriguez.
Banks, a 6-foot-6, 255-pounder, had 20 offers and spurned ones for teams close to home such as Michigan and Michigan State to come to Tempe.
He played on both sides of the ball but is projected as a defensive player at ASU. As a junior he recorded 42 tackles, 12 of those for a loss.
