Arizona State held off UCLA 31-28 to improve to 7-4 on the season and assure the Sun Devils a spot in a bowl game.
UCLA committed a pair of penalties in the final 33 seconds of the game, both of which resulted in 10-second runoffs, to hinder its chance at a tying drive.
The game ended with an incomplete pass to midfield.
Sun Devils stall
ASU kept the ball just 22 seconds as UCLA forced a three-and-out. The Bruins did use all of their timeouts during that span. A punt resulted in a touchback, giving UCLA possession on its own 20 with 1:33 to play.
