MARICOPA, Ariz. – The Arizona State Sun Devil men's golf team topped USC Monday in the consolation round of the Copper Cup presented by Goldberg Family Foundation at AK-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club in Maricopa. ASU notched three points in the morning, and then had good play after lunch to take the win 8-3.
The Ryder-Cup-style match had four matches in the morning (three alternate shots and a Ryggs Johnston singles match) and seven singles matches in the afternoon. ASU went 5-2 in the afternoon to clinch the win, with Connor Williams, Preston Summerhays, Luke Potter and Joselle Ballester all notching a full point.
