SAN FRANCISCO – Senior libero Courtney Leffel is this week's Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week after a stand-out weekend for Arizona State volleyball at the Flo Hyman Collegiate Cup last weekend.
This is the first defensive player of the week nod for the Sun Devils since Halle Harker earned the honor back in September 2017, and it is the fifth defensive weekly award in program history. For Leffel, this is her first weekly award.
Leffel had an outstanding weekend to start the 2019 season. She had a career-high 39 digs in the five-set win over LSU, which was the ninth most in a match in ASU history, seventh most in the rally-scoring era.
