Freshman Josan Sanon had 28 points in 38 minutes and ASU led 43-41 at the half, but playing with just six scholarship players it couldn't sustain and fell 99-73 at Utah Saturday evening. It marked the second-most points in a road game by a Sun Devil freshman (Jahii Carson's 32 at Washington on Feb. 2, 2013).
Utah shot .565 from the field (35-of-62) and outrebounded ASU (13-16; 4-14) 40-29 to take the lone meeting of the teams in the regular season.
Sanon's 28 points are the most by a Sun Devil since Remy Martin had 31 against Washington on Feb.
