Arizona State offensive coordinator Rob Likens believes in miracles and that freshman quarterback Joey Yellen almost pulled one off Saturday.
Playing in his first college game, other than one penalty-ended snap two weeks ago, Yellen nearly brought ASU back from a 28-7 deficit at Sun Devil Stadium. Even though he hurt his shoulder taking a sack on ASU's third offensive play and "couldn't hardly throw the football," Likens said. "He just toughed it out the rest of the game.
"It was an unbelievable performance. I can't say enough about it.
