OJAI, Calif. – The Sun Devil women's tennis team saw their Pac-12 title run come to an end at the hands of No. 3 Washington when it fell 4-0 Thursday night in Ojai, California.
The Devils and Huskies appeared to be evenly matched at the start of doubles play as the three courts traded games.
Washington grabbed the early advantage by getting off of court three with a win, but No. 76 Hampton/Alicea brought things back to even when they recorded a 6-3 win on court two.
The Husky pairing tied the contest on court one at 5-5 and would eventually jump ahead of ASU 6-5 before the Devils blanked them to force a winner-take-all tiebreak for the match and the doubles point.
