TEMPE, Ariz. -- The Arizona State volleyball team (10-10, 0-8 Pac-12) battled No. 13 Utah to four sets but ultimately fell, 26-24, 17-25, 29-31, 26-28, Sunday afternoon in Wells Fargo Arena.
"Our middles stepped up and played well today," said head coach Sanja Tomasevic. "Griere (Hughes) played well. But then Oly (Okaro) and Halle (Harker) didn't have their best matches, respectively."
Freshman Griere Hughes led the Sun Devils in kills with 18. She has now recorded double-figures kills tallies in 11 of the Sun Devils' 20 outings on the season.
Sophomore setter Nicole Peterson recorded a career high 53 assists and added 14 digs for her fourth career double-double and third this season.
