On Tuesday, Hawaii announced that former Arizona State coach Todd Graham would be its new football coach, replacing Nick Rolovich, who left Hawaii for Washington State.
Graham went 46-32 in six seasons at Arizona State from 2012-17. He is 95-61 in 12 seasons as a college football coach.
But it is what he has done in the past two seasons out of football that may have helped prepare him most to coach at Hawaii.
Graham's priorities changed after he was fired from ASU at the end of the 2017 season, but his drive to coach didn't.
