The world must look very odd to Arizona State football coach Herm Edwards.
Everyone around him is announcing and admonishing and pronouncing and predicting and criticizing and claiming and … meanwhile, Coach Herm’s just getting ready for a football game.
“When you win, everyone’s happy,” he said. “When you lose, everyone gets criticized. And rightly so, that’s the game we bought in to play and to coach.”
His next chance to show the value of his slow-simmer approach in a microwave world comes Saturday night against No. 12 Washington.
It’s a big game that should come with plenty of pressure for Edwards and his players.
