DETROIT– Arizona State lacrosse (6-6, 1-2) dominated both sides of the ball, after an 11-goal first quarter fueled the Sun Devils to a 17-3 win over Detroit Mercy (3-9, 2-1 MAC) on Tuesday morning. The three goals for UDM tied the fewest allowed by ASU in program history. The only other time the Sun Devils allowed three goals was February 24, 2019 in the 11-3 win over Stetson.
The Sun Devils held Detroit Mercy without a shot for the first 19 minutes of the game, while tallying 16 of their own in that span. Junior Goalkeeper Katie Vahle, who started the game and needed just one save to earn the win, picked up the 21st win of her career, breaking the first-place tie with Berkeley Bonneau in the program's record books.
